International Olympic Committee donates prizes to the Monthly Medal
The august monthly medal was played yesterday at Japeri Golfe with the participation of over 20 golfers. Matheus Ventura won the boys scratch category with 82 and Vitoria Monteiro the girls with 84. Medals were awarded to the winners of each category at the traditional prize-giving.
However, the prize-giving ceremony turned into a wonderful party, due to the International Olympic Committee. Christophe Dubi, the Executive Director of the IOC who has played at Japeri Golfe several times, donated a huge amount of new golf clothes by Nike left over from Rio 2016.
The gifts were distributed to the nearly 120 children present and their families. Each person received at least one article of clothing, such as golf shirts, sweaters, rain-jackets, shoes, gloves, caps etc.
We are very grateful to Christophe Dubi and the IOC for this extremely generous gesture. The day will not be forgotten soon. The Olympic legacy has reached Japeri Golfe.
